1. Belief in Tawheed - Oneness of Allah

Belief in Allah's Lordship, Oneness, and Attributes:

●  We believe in Allah's Divinity; that is He is the Lord, the Creator, the Sovereign, and the Manager of all affairs.

●  We believe in Allah's Lordship; that is He is the True God and every other deity is false.

●  We believe in His names and Attributes, that is He has the most magnificent Names and the sublime perfect Attributes.

●  We believe in His Oneness in all this, that is He has no associate in His divinity, His Godship, His Names, or His Attributes.

Allah says in the Qur'an:

He is Lord of the Heavens and Earth, and all that is between them, so worship Him (Alone) and be constant and patient in His worship. Do you know of any who is similar to Him? (of course none is similar or co-equal or comparable to Him, and He has none as partner with Him). [There is nothing like unto Him and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer]. (19:65)

●  We believe that He is

Allah! La ilaha illa Hua (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. [This Verse 2:255 is called Ayat-ul-Kursi.) (2:255)

●  We believe that

He is Allah, beside Whom La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen. He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

He is Allah beside whom La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to Allah! (High is He) above all that they associate as partners with Him.

He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (59:22-24)

●  We believe that

To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills, and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills.

Or He bestows both males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills. Verily, He is the All-Knower and is Able to do all things. (42:49-50)

●  We believe that

There is nothing like Him; and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.

To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He enlarges provision for whom He wills, and straitens (it for whom He wills). Verily He is the All-Knower of everything. (42:11-12)

●  We believe that

And no moving (living) creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allah. And He knows its dwelling place and its deposit (in the uterus, or grave). All is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh-Al-Mahfuz - the Book of Decrees with Allah). (11:6)

●  We believe that

And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He. And He knows whatever there is in the land and in the sea; not a leaf falls, but He knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record. (6:59)

●  We believe that

Verily Allah, with Him (alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware (of things). (31:34)

●  We believe that Allah speaks whatever He pleases whenever He pleases.

And to Musa (Moses Allah spoke directly. (4:164)

And when Musa (Moses) came at the time and place appointed by Us, and his Lord (Allah) spoke to him; (7:143)

And We called him from the right side of the Mount, and made him draw near to Us for a talk with him [Musa(Moses)]. (19:52)

●  We believe that

Say (O Muhammad (p.b.u.h) to mankind): "If the sea were ink for (writing) the Words of my Lord, surely, the sea would be exhausted before the Words of my Lord would be finished, even if We brought (another sea) like it for its aid." (18:109)

●  We believe that

And if all the trees on the earth were pens, and the sea (were ink wherewith to write), with seven seas behind it to add to its (supply), yet the Worlds of Allah would not be exhausted. Verily, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (31:27)

●  We believe that Allah's words are the most fruitful in conveying information, the most just in ruling, and the fairest in conversation. He said,

And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice. (6:115)

And who is truer in statement than Allah? (4:87)

●  We believe that the Qur'an is Allah's words. He literally spoke it to Gabriel who conveyed it to the Prophet, peace be upon him:

Say (O Muhammad (p.b.u.h)) Ruh-ul-Qudus [Jibril (Gabriel)] has brought it (the Qur'an) down from your Lord with truth.(16:102)

And truly, this (the Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of the Alamin (mankind, Jinn and all that exists),

Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibril (Gabriel)] has brought down

Upon your heart (O Muhammad (p.b.u.h)) that you may be (one) of the warners,

In the plain Arabic language. (26:192-195)

●  We believe that Allah is high above His creatures in His person and His attributes because He says:

He is the Most High", the Most Great (2:255)

And He is the Irresistible, (Supreme) above His slaves, and He is the All-Wise, Well-Acquainted with all things. (6:18)

●  We believe that

Surely, your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days and then rose over (Istawa) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His majesty), disposing the affair of all things. (10:3)

●  His "settling on the Throne" means that He is sitting in person on His Throne in a way that is becoming to His majesty and greatness. Nobody except He knows exactly how He is sitting.

●  We believe that He is with His creatures

There is nothing like Him; and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. (42:11)

●  We do not say as the Incarnationists among the Jahomites and other say, that is, Allah is living with His creatures on Earth. We consider whoever say this a non-believer or straying away because he attributed to Allah that does not become Him of defects.

●   We believe in what His Messenger told us that He descends to the near sky during the last third of every night and says: "Who prays to Me and I will answer his prayers? Who asks Me and I will give him? Who asks My forgiveness and I will forgive him" (Bukhari & Muslim).

●  We believe that He will come on the Day of Judgement to judge among His people because He said,

Nay! When the earth is ground to powder.

And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him? (89:21-23)

●  We believe that He is the Doer of what He wills.
