15. Throwing the Jamrahs 1. Details

Go towards the Jamrah after the sun passes the meridian and start with the small Jamrah that is next to Al-Khaif Mosque and stone it with seven pebbles one by one while pronouncing Takbir (saying: Allah-u-akbar) with each pebble. Then, face the Qiblah, hands raised up while invoking Allah for a period equal to that spent in reciting the Qur'anic surah of Al-Baqarah. Then, stone the second Jamrah in the same way facing the Qiblah and invoking Allah for a period slightly less than the first. Then, stone the Jamrah of Al-`Aqabah with seven pebbles while letting the House on your left and Mina on your right.

15. Throwing the Jamrahs 2. Proof

It is reported that Ibn `Umar used to throw the Smallest Jamrah with seven small pebbles and say the Takbir on throwing each one. Then he would go ahead and stand for a long time facing the Qiblah with his hands raised, and invoke Allah and he used to stand for a long period. Then he would come to the Medium Jamrah and throw it with seven small pebbles, reciting the Takbir on throwing each one. Then he would turn left near the valley and stand facing the Qiblah raising his hands to invoke (Allah). Then he would come to the Jamrah near the `Aqabah (Jamrat Al-`Aqabah) and do the throwing with seven small pebbles, reciting the Takbir on throwing each one. Then, he would leave and not stay by it and say, "I saw Allah's Messenger as doing the same."
