10. Slaughtering   1. Details

It is preferable for one on Hajj to say on the occasion of slaughtering the Offering, "In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. O Allah! shower Your blessings and peace unto Muhammad and unto his family. O Allah! this is from You and to You, accept (it) from me."

1. Allah, the Almighty, says, "If any one wishes to continue the `Umrah on to the Hajj, he must make an offering such as he can afford."

2. Describing the Hajj performed by the Prophet (peace be upon him) Jabir reported, "And the total sum of camels brought by `Ali from Yemen, and those brought by the Prophet (peace be upon him) from Medina was one hundred (camels)."

3. Then he (the Narrator) said, " He (the Prophet) slew sixty-three camels by his own hands and then ordered `Ali to slay the rest (of them)."
4. Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The Mount `Arafah as a whole is considered as an attending place, Mina is a place of sacrifice, Muzdalifah is an attending place, and all Mecca's mountain passes are a route and a place of sacrifice."
